SO HOW DOES PERSPECTIVES WORK?

Perspectives on the World Christian Movement is a Christian education course designed to help believers learn more about God's heart for all nations and how believers worldwide can play an active role in the Great Commission. It is run locally, coordinated regionally, and supported behind the scenes by a national leadership team. In Canada, a number of courses are run in various regions. The course is run worldwide in many countries and languages.
 

WHO RUNS PERSPECTIVES?

The Perspectives Study Program is a ministry of Frontier Ventures, formerly the U.S. Center for World Mission - a non-denominational parachurch ministry that works to catalyze kingdom breakthrough among the unreached. There is a Global Perspectives team to help facilitate the program and it’s development in countries outside of the USA.

Perspectives Canada oversees the program in Canada and reports to the Global Perspectives office. There is a Perspectives Canada Facilitation Team who oversees the program in Canada while regional teams handle the program operation in their region.

Perspectives is hosted by various churches or non-profits around the country. Usually local coordinators try to have Perspectives hosted by a different church each year, because it is not owned or operated by a local church. The churches are serving as hosts and supporters of the study program. Shifting the location from year to year helps foster the mentality of it being a neutral, community wide course.
 

15 LESSONS

Perspectives classes are normally 14-15 weeks, one night a week for about 2.5 hours each session. There are some intensive courses that cover the material in one week and a variety of other delivery options based on the desire of the host location. WHAT HAPPENS EACH WEEK?

• Different instructors from many ministry contexts come to teach the class, depending on their areas of expertise and experience.
• Classes normally have two 45-60 minute teaching sessions with a break in the middle, and some time at the beginning and end to review last week's and next week's lessons.
• Teaching formats vary each week depending on the instructor's personality. It is not uncommon to have small group discussions, short videos, incredible testimonies, Q&A, and teaching.
